Advansor and Norpe develop forerunner solutions

Collaboration between Norpe and the Danish refrigeration and heat pump company Advansor began in Norway in 2009 when Advansor designed and manufactured R744 booster Power Packs for Norpe’s Norwegian customers. Norpe and Advansor made a formal partnership agreement last year.

“We have been happy to welcome Norpe into our extensive network of partners,” explains Advansor Director of Engineering Kim G. Christensen.

He has noticed that working with Norpe is easy.

“Norpe makes the cabinets and we produce the refrigeration systems. Together we are able to provide a functional refrigeration solution for the customer.”

One special strength that Christensen stresses is that both Norpe and Advansor train their field staff well.

“We have a special training programme for the people who install and service these appliances. Ensuring that new technology is properly installed and serviced is an important key to success,” he explains.

“It is essential to ensure that the people who install the cabinets and power packs are trained and capable. We have excelled at this in Finland, and now we are expanding these operations to Sweden.”

Environmentally friendly technology wins customers

Environmental friendliness is a key benefit of Advansor power packs, which have a smaller carbon footprint due to low energy consumption and the use of carbon dioxide as a refrigerant.

“Carbon dioxide is much less harmful to the environment than HFC-based refrigerants. One kilogram of HFC has the greenhouse gas emissions impact of 3,000 kilograms of CO2,” Christensen explains.

The reduced carbon footprint was also an important reason why the ICA Supermarked Storo in Oslo chose Norpe and Advansor as a supplier. ICA is the leading daily consumer goods retail trading chain in the Nordic countries, and its Storo outlet is located in one of the largest shopping centres in Oslo.

“ICA is committed to reducing its carbon footprint, and so a CO2-based refrigeration system was the only practical answer for our larger outlets,” explains Lennart Kohlstrøm, the ICA manager responsible for retail outlet refrigeration units.

Kohlstrøm says that the company selected a cost-effective supplier of the best refrigeration equipment solution, and he greatly appreciates the ease of working with Norpe and Advansor.

“Everything has been managed smoothly and the outcome has been excellent.”
