EcoCooler combines all green features

EcoCooler is a fascinating product innovation: a roll in appliance with a glass-doored cabinet that combines all possible energy-saving features. The standard features of EcoCooler include LED lighting, energy-saving fans, hot gas defrost water evaporation, double-glazed thermal glass doors, propane refrigerant and a regulator for manually increasing the temperature from 4 to 8 degrees on switching to ECO-mode. EcoCooler can be used as a roll-in cabinet. It also transforms easily into a shelf display – or a roll-in & shelf display.

Plug-in business director Pauli Tarna also praises the EcoCooler for its impressive looks. “This unit is a design success that is definitely pleasing to the eye and can readily be viewed as a brand name item. There is plenty of LED-illuminated advertising space and the high walls allow the sides to be used as well.”

The design work on this appliance began in partnership with a leading Finnish beverage industry operator that was seeking to replace older reseller appliances with a more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly model. This work resulted in the EcoCooler, launched in March 2011 at the EuroShop trade fair in Germany.  

The energy consumption of EcoCooler is only 6.6 kWh/24 h, and as low as 5.8 kWh/24 h in ECO mode. Tarna explains that no competing product can match this. Norpe has indeed gained an edge as the first company to market such a versatile, energy-efficient appliance. EcoCooler has attracted very considerable interest, with the first installations already successfully completed.
